The power of your subconscious mind – BOOK Review
BOOK REVIEW
The power of your subconscious mind
By Joseph Murphy
I have just completed reading the book “The power of your subconscious mind ” by Joseph Murphy.
This is one book that has reinitiated my belief in “Whatever we have, whatever we get is all because of our thought process“
“It is all in the mind, if our mind is full of positive thoughts then our actions will also be accordingly.“
Also, this book talks about –
1.) Set the correct intention.
2.) Helps us achieve the correct mindset.
3.) Help us to be more actionable.
The author of the book talks about the concept that you have two minds
- The conscious mind (Waking mind, Surface self, Voluntary mind) – It chooses the reasons. For eg- we choose the thoughts, beliefs, theories, and opinions, Whatever we believe will impact our subconscious mind.
- The subconscious mind (Sleeping mind, Deep self, Involuntary mind) – It cannot choose, it simply takes what you give and execute it. It actually helps in manifesting what we believe.
These are not actually two minds but part or spheres of activity.
The subconscious mind has the power to imagine whatever picture we portray to it with the help of what we choose to feed it with. Once we see the picture that is what we start working towards.
Just as we do in real life what we see now was an idea before like the telephone was an idea and now it is real.
The subconscious mind has a full-fledged impact on our whole personality. That is the reason we generally see two sorts of people around- Magnetized (full of confidence and courage) and demagnetized people (full of fear and doubts).
This is because our conscious mind has the power to choose what kind of person we want to be but our subconscious mind is responsible to inculcate thoughts and beliefs which in turn decided our success.
If the subconscious mind is germinated with positive thoughts then we cultivate happiness but if we have negative thoughts then we will only cultivate unhappiness whatever may be the domain of life.
This book is full of real-life experiences that help us understand the power of the subconscious mind. While reading the book I could actually feel that yes the change is possible.
How does the subconscious mind work?
The subconscious mind is generally irrational as it believes what we feed into it. For example, if we keep on saying “I cannot do” the subconscious mind starts believing in that and treats it as true.
What to do?
The above mentioned is the reason we should talk and believe in positivity. We should feed in our minds the positive things. We should plan goals and visualize them so that they are fed in our subconscious minds all the time. This will help us set the intention and faith in things. Faith is the ultimate reason for things happening around us.
We should just not think but believe it.
The one thing here to take care of is we should just not have thought but we should also believe in it. A thought is just an idea whereas a belief is a feeling. though when repeated is converted into a belief. Feelings actually make us bring things to reality.
For eg- When the same message is given to 2 people they may react differently. If I say to you that you are intelligent. It may cross your mind but if you do not feel it you may not believe it.
The subconscious mind is fed with habitual patterns
We cannot have the right feeding in the mind in one day. It is the result of patterns of our habits. For example, if I have a habit of finding faults, and negative aspects then it will be fed in the subconscious mind and it will also result in what we do. This is because what we have in our subconscious mind will make us choose what we are offered.
Feed the mind to control results
We need to develop habits that can have a positive feed to our minds. If at any point in time we get into the negative mode or negative thought process then we need to immediately stop and make a conscious effort to change the thought. For this the best way to do it is to follow visualization techniques every day like writing goals every day, having goal cards, affirmations, and vision boards.
We have natural healings
We all have natural healing abilities for all things like diseases or anything else. In the book, one thing which is been shared is that after talking to many doctors, many patients it is been revealed that the biggest disease can be cured if we have faith in it. we fully believe in it.
This is why we see people’s prayers giving results. Prayer is nothing but faith that everything is good.
The subconscious mind can bring you success by
1.) Finding what we love so that we can enjoy what we doing.
2.) Specialize in one particular branch of work.
3.) Whatever we do should not only have selfish motives but should also have a bigger purpose.
To practice the subconscious mind follow these steps:
- Start with the right intention and have to believe in the power of the subconscious mind.
- Write down specifically what is your idea of an ideal life.
- Practice visualization techniques at least once a day.
- Do it
Read the book once and you will be super motivated, and energized and you will know all about the power of your subconscious mind.
